Baby Shower M&m

Now that Baby M is here, so are the photos of her Baby Shower! 🙂

I just love the Hot air balloon theme! Couldn’t wait anymore to organise a party with this theme… So baby m and mummy M wet the “lucky ones” 😀

Mummy M best friend did this beautiful “diaper cake” in the shape of a stroller, with many sweet gifts on it:

I think Mummy M and Daddy F will have a good time changing diapers during the nights:

Daily Prompt: Breakdown Habits? Too much time spent on details…!

mushrooms grass zaha hadid maxxi Roma

I think if I would like to break an habit it would be the time I spent with details. Does it come with something good? Yes, sometimes I get to have things working out as perfectly as I wanted. But most of the times I just spend way too much time with details that are not so important when I could have some other projects, ideas, or work, moving forward and not stopped, waiting to be done.

I think this photo from my last vacation in Italy is the perfect illustration of that. And I just love it!

Piazza di Spagna

Piazza di SpagnaAnd finally, before taking the metro to the train station, the suitcases went to see Piazza di Spagna!

There is a nice fountain (sculpted by Pietro Bernini and his son, the more famous Gian Lorenzo Bernini) just in front of the famous Spanish Steps (on the left), but it is so crowded with tourists that you can’t see them in this photo… 🙂 The Spanish steps you probably have seen in fashion events, wondering how can the models walk down without looking…! At least  I always wonder… 🙂

Fontana di Trevi

This place was always full of people. But really always! We went there by day, by night, at different hours… and it was just crowded. So this was the best picture we could take, because there was not enough room to walk away from the suitcases to get a better angle.

Anyway, the fountain is really nice, but all the pictures, postcards and video scenes I’ve seen before made me think the fountain itself (the water tank, not the sculptures) and the space around it were much, much, bigger. So it was a surprise to see it. I was not disappointed, but really, after seeing the images before, I felt the fountain deserved to be in a bigger square. Maybe if less people were there I wouldn’t have felt the same, I don’t know…!

Any similar feelings from that side?

The Pantheon

Pantheon Rome Italy TravelCurious fact: Almost two thousand years after it was built, the Pantheon’s dome is still the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome (sourcce: Wiki)

It is incredible the pictures you can take inside the building thanks to the circular opening in the middle of the ceiling…. Like this ones:

You can’t help but go there at different times of the day just to see how it looks like with the different angles of the sun beam. Should also be interesting when it is raining… I couldn’t see that, though… It was almost 40ºC in the week I was there…! But it is for sure interesting.

Piazza Navona

Suitcases #1In Piazza Navona you can see the Church of “Sant’Agnese in Agone”, in the picture, the Church of “Nostra Signora del Sacro Cuore” (not in the picture).

There is fountain in the center,  Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi or Fountain of the Four Rivers (1651), by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. The fountain is topped by the Obelisk of Domitian. There are another two fountains, Fontana del Moro (1575) and Fountain of Neptune (1574).

And then, there are tenths of people selling and/or making paintings an drawings about Rome or Italy in general. Most of them are clearly just prints, that you can find anywhere (at least in several places in Rome…). I think it would be much more interesting if they were selling their own original work…
